Darwin, Australia

It is March 30, 2019 and we arrived in Darwin the capital city of the Northern Territory of Australia, situated on the Timor Sea. The Northern Territory has a population of 145,916, so it is sparsely populated with most of the land being dedicated to Aborigines, Military, and National Parks.

Extreme temperatures at the Darwin Post Office Station have ranged from 104.7 degrees F on October 17, 1892 to 56.1 degrees F on June 25, 1891. Temperatures at the Darwin Airport station (which is further from the coast and routinely records cooler temperatures than the post office station which is located in Darwin's CBD) have ranged from 102.0 degrees F on October 18, 1982 to 50.7 degrees F on July 29, 1942.

We traveled by van with eight other people to the Litchfield National Park and on the way there saw semi-trucks pulling up to four trailers. Linked is a picture of a truck pulling four fuel tanks (I'm not sure what the stopping distance would be at 60 miles per hour). We also went to Tabletop Swamp and took some unique pictures.

We saw termite mounds that were over 15 feet tall. We stopped at two nice waterfalls and even went to swimming ponds where Lanee ventured into the clear water. It was the first region where we had to deal with aggressive flies and mosquitoes.
