Common Ragweed is an erect herb which grows to a height of 3 feet. It is present in the South Texas Plains and the Edwards Plateau. The yellow flowers can be found on a stalk with the male flowers on the top and the female flowers towards the bottom in clusters. The leaves are heavily lobed and are a length of about 4 inches and a width of about 2 1/2 inches. The flowers bloom in the late summer and the early fall. Common ragweed is the most widespread of the ragweed species and is one of the main causes of allergies. |
