The Slimpod Milkvetch is a low, weakly upright, annual that grows between 6-14 inches high. The magenta flowers are few to several, congested in short, roundish terminal clusters 1/2 inches long. The leaves reach 2 3/4 inches in length with each blade divided into 11-17 individual leaflets. Slimpod Milkvetch can be found in open areas, prairies, pastures, along hills, slopes and woodland edges. This plant is native to the South Texas Plains and Edwards Plateau and blooms from March to May.
