Hooded Windmillgrass is similar in appearance to Tumble Windmillgrass, although this species is smaller. The seedhead still looks like a windmill. It is six to twenty inches in height and grows in flat, sandy soils of the South Texas Plains and Edwards Plateau. It can bloom several times throughout the year. Forage value is fair for both livestock and wildlife. |
