| False Nighshade is a sprawling perennial plant that is 2-5 inches tall. The whitish yellow flowers are 3/8-5/8 inches in diameter and are shaped like stars. The deeply lobed leaves are 1-1 1/2 inches long and are covered with numerous spreading hairs. False Nightshade blooms in April and May from the limestone soils of the South Texas Plains and the Edwards Plateau. The leaves and stems are eaten by white-tailed deer. | |
