| Tumble Windmillgrass has two or more sets of windmill- like branches, hence the name. It grows in heavy sand and gravelly soils in the South Texas Plains and the Edwards Plateau regions and reaches a height of 16 inches. The narrow leaf blades are about 6 inches long and are mainly located at the base of the plant. Both the blades and sheaths are compressed. It flowers between May and September and reproduces by seeds and tillers. Tumble Windmillgrass has poor economic value for livestock and wildlife. |
