Southwestern Carrot is an annual, erect plant growing 1-3 feet tall whose roots have a characteristic carrot odor. The flowerhead consists of several white flowers gathered in a compound umbel. The leaves of this plant grow up to 7" long and are pinnately divided. The Southwestern Carrot can be found in the South Texas Plains and the Edwards Plateau regions and blooms from April to June. The leaves are eaten by white-tailed deer.
