| Illinois Bundleflower is an upright perennial reaching a height of 1 to 3 feet. It can be found in clay or calcareous soils of the Edwards Plateau and South Texas Plains. The minute, white flowers form a ball-like cluster and bloom from May to June. The leaves are 2 to 4 inches long and twice divided into 20 to 30 leaflets. The fruit is a dense cluster of curved pods that are green when young and turn brown or black at maturity. Illinois Bundleflower is an indicator of good range condition. It is eaten readily by livestock and wildlife. |
