| Turnsole is found in various soils along watercourses in the South Texas Plains and the Edwards Plateau. It is an erect, loosely branched plant that is approximately 1 to 2 1/2 feet in height. Small white hairs cover the stem and the under part of the leaves. The leaves are about one to five inches long and have a wavy margin. The pale blue to violet flowers are 1/8 to 3/16 inch long and 1/8 inch wide. They are found on a stalk that is curled and shaped like a scorpion's tail. Turnsole blooms from July to October. |
