Ragweed is found in sandy and calcareous clay soils of the Edwards Plateau. It is an upright biennial that reaches 1 1/2 to 3 feet tall. The flower head is made up of creamy to white disk flowers and small white petal-like bracts and is approximately 1/2 inch in diameter. Many flower heads form a cluster of flowers. The leaves are 3 1/4 to 7 1/4 inches long and tend to form a basal rosette with some leaves alternating along the stem. Ragweed blooms from March to July. |
