Berlandier Wolfberry is a spiny shrub measuring seven feet in height. It can be found in various soil types of the South Texas Plains and the Edwards Plateau. The blue, lavender, or white flowers bloom from February to October. The fruit is a small red berry and is eaten by small birds and mammals, such as chachalacas and racoons. Wolfberry is browsed by white-tailed deer and occasionally by livestock.
