Common Horehound is a weedy pest that can be seen growing in various soils types of the South Texas Plains and Edwards Plateau. It is an introduced plant from Eurasia that can be 1 to 2 feet tall. This low bushy plant has many stems, each having fine white hairs like wool. The leaves have a wrinkled surface and wavy margins and are approximately 2 inches long. The white to cream flowers are clustered in the the axils of the leaves and are about 3/16 inch in length. Common Horehound blooms from April to July.
