| Lemon Beebalm is an upright annual that can be found in sandy loam or rocky soils of the Edwards Plateau and South Texas Plains. It reaches a height of 32 inches, with leaves 1 1/8 to 2 3/8 inches long. The flower can be rosy-pink to purple or white, with purple dots and is ½ to 3/4 inches long. Lemon Beebalm is very aromatic, having the scent of lemon, and blooms from May to July. The leaves can be brewed for tea and, when crushed, can make a insect repellent. The leaves and bracts are eaten by white-tailed deer and cattle. |
