Ponyleaf Oxalis can be found in gravelly, clayey, and limestone soils of the South Texas Plains and the Edwards Plateau. It is a perennial with a woody rootstock and reaches two to twelve inches in height. The leaves are different from most Oxalis species because they are not divided. Instead, they are round with wavy edges and about one inch long. The flowers are yellow or white and tend to bloom all year.
