| Rose Palafoxia grows to a height of one to two feet. It is a sandy soil annual of the South Texas Plains and Edwards Plateau. The leaves are slender and up to two inches long. The flower head is made up of 12-25 pink to rose disk flowers with no ray flowers. It blooms from June to October and is a reservoir of nectar and pollen for insects. Rose Palafoxia is very similar to another Palafoxia found in the Edwards Plateau area, Palafoxia callosa, with the major difference being in the length of the phyllaries and pappus. |
