Heller Penstemon can be found in dry, rocky to limestone soil of the Edwards Plateau. It can grow up to 2 feet tall with leaves that are 1 1/2 to 3 1/3 inches long. The flower has a five-lobed opening and its length is 1 1/4 inches long. The color can vary from white to purplish, containing dark lines on the inside of the flower. Heller Penstemon blooms from April to May.
