Ruellia metzae is 23 inches tall and can be found in the Edwards Plateau and South Texas Plains. It is found growing in mesquite areas, oak mottes, gravelly soil of stream beds and limestone hills. The leaves are 1 to 4 1/2 inches long and 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches wide. The flower is white in color and has five lobes. Ruellia metzae blooms from May to October. |
