Bush Sunflower is a low bushy perennial reaching a height of 6 to 24 inches. It can be found in both the Edwards Plateau and South Texas Plains in dry soils. The stema and leaves have rough hairs. The leaves are shallowly lobed and are about 1 1/4 inches long. The flower head consists of numerous yellow disk and ray flowers and measures 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Bush Sunflower blooms from April to October. The leaves are eaten by white-tailed deer.
