Slim Tridens is a hairy grass standing eight to thirty inches in height. It grows on dry, open slopes of sandy, rocky or clayey soils in the South Texas Plains and Edwards Plateau. Slim Tridens is adapted to high temperatures and drought conditions. Flowering period can be from April to May and then again from September to October. Slim Tridens is grazed by livestock, deer, and javelina and the seeds are a source of food for birds and rodents. |
