Cotyledons. Key characteristics: narrow, light green on the upper surface and purple on the lower surface.
Seedling. Key characteristics: newly emerged leaves are mealy or frosty in appearance; leaf arrangement is alternate; margins on very young leaves may not possess teeth.
Vegetative plants. Key characteristics: stems are smooth and ridged. Younger leaf blades have a mealy coating. Leaf arrangement is alternate. Lower leaves usually have some coarse teeth along the margins while upper leaves may be entire.

Seed. Seed are round, black and enclosed in a pericarp. Size is slightly larger than 1.0 mm.
