Seedling plant.  Key characteristics: leaves are opposite and smooth.

Vegetative plant.  Key characteristics: leaves become alternate in the upper portions of the stem and remain smooth.  The leaf margins have some irregular teeth.   The plant is small in stature and has a delicate appearance.

  

Seed.  Seed are oval-shaped and slightly less than 1.0 mm long.

Life cycle: winter annual.
