Grazing Alfalfa after Freezing

Regardless of the type of variety, grazing alfalfa after a hard freeze is a good practice.  There is little danger of bloat.  Grazing removes egg-laying sites for alfalfa weevils and lessens the severity of damage the next spring. Grazing varieties as well as hay-type varieties should be grazed during the winter in Oklahoma.
