Scald

Stripe of dead alfalfa resulting under window was severely stunted or killed by a window on plants for an extended period of time.  When alfalfa is swathed just before a rainy period diseases and insect attack plants under the window row.  Extended shading under the window also contributed to stand loss.  Weeds will invade the stripe devoid of alfalfa plants.
