Dodder on Alfalfa  

Dodder stems wrap around alfalfa stems and feeds on the nutrients in the alfalfa plant because dodder has no chlorophyll.  One crop of dodder seed left in a field will contaminate the field for many years.  Flowers in numbers like this are capable of producing thousands of seeds.
