No Phosphorus Applied
This photo is a plot of alfalfa growing on phosphorus
deficient soil. Alfalfa was much taller a few feet away where phosphorus was applied.
Most of the stems where no fertilizer was applied are about 13 inches tall; whereas, the
stems where fertilizer was applied are about 22 inches tall. No other clear symptoms of
phosphorus deficiency were apparent in the field.
*Picture was taken in Washita County, OK on April 30, 1998, at first
harvest. |
