Thickening Up Alfalfa Stands

Thickening Up Alfalfa Stands

When new plantings partially fail and relatively small areas are in the field without adequate numbers of plants, stands can be improved.  Normally thickening should be done as soon as possible.  (For example the first spring after a partially failed fall planting.)  Drilling seed into a seedbed with minimum disturbance is usually best.
