Alfalfa Seedbed and Seedlings

Seedlings emerging from a good bed with a crumb structure.  A good alfalfa seedbed is firm and has no large hard clods.  Alfalfa seeds begin germination in about 24 hours if moisture and temperature are correct, and they begin emerging within 5 days.   Seeds on the soil surface seldom develop into healthy plants.
