Prickly Lettuce (Lactuca serriola)

Mature annual plant as seen May through June.  Stems erect, 2 to 6 feet tall.  Contains milky juice, lower leaves more or less lobed, upper ones smaller, becoming linear.  Leaves with prickles along margin and on bottom midrib.  Yellow terminal flowers about 3/16 inch wide.
