Cheat (Bromus secalinus)

Cheat (Bromus secalinus)

Cheat is a cool-season grass that germinates in early fall, and is one of the major weed problems in fall-sown alfalfa.  Cheat, if not controlled, will drastically reduce alfalfa yield at first cutting (left), and alfalfa stand loss can result when combined with delayed cutting due to wet weather.
