OKLAHOMA ALFALFA PRODUCTION CALENDAR

Water

Alfalfa may use more than a third of an inch of water per day when hot dry winds prevail and alfalfa is more than a foot tall. Regular irrigation, if available, should begin soon after the second cutting. Once alfalfa fields are dry enough to cause plants to wilt daily, most irrigation systems cannot apply enough water to fill the soil profits.
