Soil Fertility |
| Alfalfa should be fertilized based on soil tests before the beginning of spring growth. Winter and early spring is a good time to have soil tested and apply fertilizer to established stands. Since alfalfa uses large amounts of P and K, soil testing should be done every year or at least every other year to be sure nutrients are adequate and balanced for a good crop. |
