| Producers should focus on marketing or using bales stored outside. Depending on the bale's diameter, a loss of two inches on the outside surface can represent over 10% loss of the balsa' dry matter weight. To minimize storage loss, hay should be sold now or used by March when warm weather begins and increases mold. |
