| Populations may reach the economic threshold (10-30 aphids/stem) in established stands with prolonged dry weather. Symptoms include stunting of plant growth and chlorosis with "veinbanding". Seedlings in new stands can withstand little feeding; spray if numbers exceed 1/plant. |
