P, K, and Lime Deficiency

Low soil fertility or lime appears to be the most yield-limiting factor in Oklahoma alfalfa. The 1995 Alfalfa Production Evaluation Project showed that over 75% of the fields chosen by producers were deficient in P, K, or lime for maximum production. Of the 1500 alfalfa soil samples analyzed by the O.S.U. laboratory in 1995, 90% were deficient in at least one of these factors. Have you checked your fields recently?
