GRASSHOPPER DAMAGE DURING SEED SET |
|
If grasshoppers were not controlled before infesting alfalfa during June, there may be no effective means available to reduce populations once they have migrated into fields in July and August. Damage may be heavy in alfalfa near field borders, particularly in seed production fields, as grasshoppers may feed primarily on blossoms and green pods. Insecticides registered for use in alfalfa may not provide effective control of large nymphs and adult grasshoppers. |
