Cheat (Bromus secalinus)

Close-up of the spikelets in the panicle seed head of cheat.  First and second glumes are about 5 mm long with second glume being slightly longer.  Spikelets are 4- to 7-flowered.  Seed unit includes equal length lemma and palea and awn on lemma in about the same length as the seed unit.
