DESCRIPTION | |
Germination: | September to October. |
Reproduction: | By seeds in May to June. |
Stems: | 1 to 3 feet high with many axillary stems at top of plant. |
Leaves: | Leaves feather shaped but not as deeply lobed as shepherdspurse. |
Flowers/ Inflorescence: |
Flowers formed apically in elongated racemes with four bluish-purple petals. |
Fruit: | Linear silique with conspicuous beak, about 1/3 the length of pod, breaking apart at maturity transversely into numerous 2-seeded sections. |
FOUND: |
In fall-planted alfalfa near Burlington (NW). |
CONTROL: |
No information on control. Would suggest trying to quarts of BUTYRAC 200 in fall for controlling in fall-planted alfalfa. |
