Palmer Amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri)

An erect, branched, competitive summer weed growing to over six feet tall.  Leaves, long petioled, egg-shaped, 2 to 8 inches long, 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches wide, with a whitish block in the center of some leaf blades.  Male and female flowers found on separate plants in long leafless branching spikes at the top of the plant.
