Cutleaf Eveningprimrose
(Oenothera laciniata)  

Cutleaf eveningprimrose is a common weed in fall-sown alfalfa.  It normally germinates during September or early October but may not be noticeable until spring.  Even in moderate density, this broadleaf weed does not cause alfalfa stand loss.
