Prickly Lettuce

This cool-season, fall-germinating, annual weed rarely causes significant yield loss in alfalfa.  Uncontrolled prickly lettuce in seedling stands can cause thinning, but more importantly, its large milky stems are slow to dry and make hay unsightly .
