Spiny Sowthistle (Sonchus asper)

Mature annual plant as seen May through June.  Plants 1 to 6 feet tall ,stems and leaves with prickles, containing milky juice.  Leaves at base of stems, petioled; upper leaves clasping the stem.   Yellow flowers about 3/4 inch wide at top of plant and in upper leaf axils.
