Little Barley (Hordeum pusillum)

Narrow dense terminal seed head covered with awns.  Three spikelets per node in spike-like raceme, the center on fertile ( 1-flowered), the two lateral spikelets sterile and on pedicels.  Lemma of central spikelet about 1/4 inch long with 1/4 inch awn.  Lemma and awns shorter on lateral spikelets.
