Italian Ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum)

Plant in heading stage as seen April through June, up to three feet tall.  Leaf blades 2 1/2 to 14 inches long and 1/8- to 3/8-inch wide.  Auricles and lack of hairs on leaves and stems will distinguish this plant from Bromus species.
