- Seedling Stands: If
your field had a history of dock problems, consider spraying newly planted fall stands in
October or November with Butyrac®200. This is the only time that dock can be
selectively removed from alfalfa.
- The best time to control emerged cool-season weeds in
fall-planted alfalfa is in October and November. Butyrac®200 (used for
broadleaf weeds) and Poast Plus® (used for weedy grasses) are both
translocated herbicides, so weeds need to be actively growing (good soil moisture and warm
temperature) when applied.
