Stands: This is a good time to remove johnsongrass from established
alfalfa. Spot treatment with Poast PlusŽ will selectively kill johnsongrass
without injuring alfalfa.
- September Weed Control in Seedling
Stands: Major weed problem weeds in fall-planted alfalfa are wheat,
cheat, and mustards. Preplant incorporated use of EptamŽ or postemergence
herbicides such as ButyracŽ 200 for broadleaf weeds and Poast PlusŽ
for weedy grasses after weeds are emerged and still small (less than 4 inches) are the
best options.
