Stands: This is a good time to remove johnsongrass from established
alfalfa. Spot treatment with Poast Plus® will selectively kill johnsongrass
without injuring alfalfa.
- September Weed Control in Seedling
Stands: Major weed problem weeds in fall-planted alfalfa are wheat,
cheat, and mustards. Preplant incorporated use of Eptam® or postemergence
herbicides such as Butyrac® 200 for broadleaf weeds and Poast Plus®
for weedy grasses after weeds are emerged and still small (less than 4 inches) are the
best options.
